Outpatient lactation support conveniently located in the Mary V. O’Shea Birth Center at Saint Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick. We are open 2 days a week and offer convenient, free parking. We accept most insurance plans, including NJ Medicaid and several managed plans, and offer a self-pay option. Breastfeeding consultations are provided by Norma Ross, APN/IBCLC, who has several years of experience with mothers and babies. She has worked as a postpartum nurse, a nursery nurse, an IBCLC (lactation consultant), and as an advance practice nurse in women’s health. As an APN, she can diagnose, treat, and prescribe for conditions like mastitis, candida or yeast infections, thrush, low milk supply, diagnose torticollis, and tongue tie and oral restrictions in baby, and make appropriate referrals for evaluation and treatment. For those who prefer conservative management of tongue tie, referrals can be made for pediatric physical therapy with Saint Peter’s University Hospital physical therapists.
