- Hernando County WIC hosts a FREE breastfeeding support group open to the public every Thursday night starting at 7PM. All family members or friends welcome to join mother and baby. Mothers do not have to be on WIC to come to the group. The group meets at the FL Department of Health in Hernando County, Classroom A & B. Topics change weekly: Getting Started with Breastfeeding, Latch Tips, Comfort Techniques for Newborns, Pumping Tips, Making More Milk, Infant Feeding with Bottle, Returning to Work or School, Babywearing, and more. Questions may call Jennie Rae at 352-540-6924. A local online/virtual support group also available and found on Facebook: Hernando's Breast Friends and Florida West Coast Breastfeeding Task Force. The FLWC Breastfeeding Task Force offers a virtual support group every Thursday evening from 7-8PM. Email [email protected] to get the Zoom link.
